Went to a local Gardens/Wildlife park to play with camera. The Bobcat was behind glass windows. How do you avoid the glare off the glass and still get good photos?
Suzanne
Yes.......use a polarized filter on your lens
see with and without...
.
Good luck
Thank you. I forgot all about using it. DUH!
If your camera can accept filters you will want to get a circular polarizer filter. The example pictures below show how well glare and reflections can be reduced through water and other non metalic surfaces (glass). They're also great for enhancing clouds and sky when shooting at 90 degrees from the sun. Oddly you do not get the same effect when point towards or away from the sun.
with filter
without filter

The Portland, OR Zoo has a lot of Plexiglas windows as barriers to its big cats enclosures. I get close to the window at a right angle to the cats using a circular polarizing filter aboard. No problem, no glare.

You've just got to get above the "snot nosed kid" area. LOL
Leopard Behind Plexiglas
Try shooting at an angle, if you see your reflection move left or right of your subject.
