George Lepp honored with U.S. Postal stamp
Excellent. He deserves it. I have the Lepp Macro bracket from when he was a contributing photographer to Outdoor Photographer. It allowed one to position to flash units on adjustable arms. I know he sold the bracket & that company, known for photographic gadgetry, later went out of business. Don't recall the details.
BTW, excellent photography in his galleries.
Very good news! I did not know about him until now, but, wow. He is a master photographer for sure. I will be sure to buy a book of stamps from this line.
Mr. Lepp came to Omaha many years ago to present a seminar/workshop. Of hundreds in attendance, I was one of ten people selected - by pure luck of the draw - to participate in a workshop the following day at the zoo. I was doing mostly Pentax macro stuff and the longest lens I owned was a 100mm. I was given a state of the art Canon body and a 500 or 600mm white lens to shoot with at the zoo. I could barely lift the combo and didn't have any idea how to use this monster. And, I was constantly afraid I would drop it. Although I enjoyed being around him, I think his efforts were wasted on me.
Neat, thanks for posting. I've read his columns in Outdoor Photographer. I'm planning to move to Bend in 3-4 years, so I loved hearing him talk in the video about how much there is to shoot up there. Maybe I'll get to meet him some day.
