I have the third edition of Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure". Does the fourth edition have enough additional info to merit buying it?

I had the 3rd. Purchased the 4th & donated the previous to the local library. Getting back to your ? , probably not. There is a couple of sections at the end ( filters & flash ). I went to a Barnes & Noble to scroll through the book before deciding.

I can't answer your question but if you send me your third edition you will have a need to buy the fourth edition to find out.

I wonder how he could have three editions, let alone four. Has something changed in the exposure triangle? I got mine in 2012, so I supposed everything has changed since then.

That is what I thought too. I'll forgo the 4th edition and wait on another author that has something different/better to teach me.

In the 4th edition he changed the "Exposure Triangle" to the "Photographic Triangle"

I did the exact same thing, bought the 4th and donated the 3rd to the library.

He made a few changes and added additional content; and they used a slightly different spacing of the text to make the book longer giving the illusion there is more to it so people will need to buy the newest edition to get all the new info...8^)

In my opinion he taught very little about how to determine exposure in all of his 4 books. He emphasized too much on his "Triangle" which is simple stuff.

As the agent for Peterson YES.

I am kidding you I have no idea at all.

There are previews out there and they most of the time will tell you what new stuff is in the latest version.

Then you can decide is there enough to make it worth buying or wait for next release

what ever you find out be sure to post as a help to others in the same situation.

Is that the same info with just another name??

He does a great job and is easy to read and follow.

maybe he figured it really was more photographic material than purely exposure
