Hi everyone just turned the big 65 and now got my Medicare card whoops. Worked in photography way back when I was younger now semiretired and dusting off the cameras and lenses. Looking forward to hiking and shooting photos in the wild and around town. About to buy a new dslr from Nikon since that's what I used. Looking forward to the many conversations. Hometown in So Cal so lots of photo ops to enjoy. To everyone have a great day.

I think you will enjoy using your old glass on a new DSLR. If you have autofocus lens from film cameras that use the screwdriver motor drive make sure you select a Nikon digital that also has the camera body motor drive. The low end Nikons (D3000 series) do not have it. The D7000 series has it and will meter your manual F mount lenses and they have lights in the viewfinder that will tell you when you are in focus. The DSLRs are not the easiest to focus manual lenses. There are Fresnel and split image aftermarket screens. The lights work well for me with my D7100.

This group is great resource for all aspects of photography for all things Nikon, including old manual glass and such I go to Nikonians.org

Best of luck in semi retirement. Search "Meetup" and see if there is a group near you for group photo outings.

Thank you all for the kind words and advice. You read my mine as I am looking at the D7200 since my AF lenses will work. Right now I am using 2 Nikon F3 HP and an N90s for 35 mm and a Bronica SQA for my medium format. Have range of lenses from 20 mm wide to 400mm so I am having fun taking photos.

Inland Empire is still a pretty big area. I am in Corona.
You are forgiven for being on the dark side, having those lenses etc leads naturally to Nikon dslr.
I can recommend Image One Camera & Video on Magnolia just west of Van Buren.

I am in Riverside. Just came from Image One picked up some prints. That is probably where I will get the camera.

Good, are you going to their 3rd anniversary bash on Aug 19&20? I have been to the 1st and 2nd year events. At the second year event my daughter and I got a total of 3 door prizes and I got a free 13x19 print on metalic paper when the Canon Rep giving the printing seminar picked one of my Egrets as a demo print.

...does Image One do your film processing? I have a Bronica, but can't find a lab here in OC that can produce clean negatives! Very frustrating and limits my film participation...too much trouble to clean up!!!

Yes they do I use them for 120 and 35. They use Swan Labs. They are not bad have not had to do much clean up but they are not perfect as we all look for.
