I have a Nikon super coolscan 5000 ed on Windows 7 64 bit & the current driver software no longer works,
nor does any of the suggested drivers that were found on the internet. Can any Uhh'er resolve my problem?

Doesn't VueScan fit your needs? Either that or Silverfast should do the job.

I have an older Canon scanner that I used on a computer with Windows 7. When I upgraded to a computer with Win10 I found Canon doesn't have a driver for it so it has been sitting idle for a while. I'll try one of these to see if I can get it working again. Thank you, LJLRenner.

Same issue for me. After my operating system upgrade to Windoze 7, my manufacturer supplied scanner software was no longer compatible. I tried Vuscan and Silverfast. Silverfast was by far the superior product. I've been using that software since 2009. It's quite powerful, the company is great, and I'm still receiving updates. It is scanner specific. So, you have to purchase the product for your scanner. I wouldn't consider using anything else. The software allows me to work with my negatives as if I were developing them again.

Ditto for this reply. I have the Nikon 5000 ED running on Windows 10 and can control it with either Vuescan or Silverfast.

OK, this may sound stupid, but it's what I did! I have a computer dedicated to support this scanner. It's pretty old and not worth much. It is NOT connected to ANYTHING, so everything is untouched by the internet. I use the software that came in-the-box. I have heard that silverfast works with this scanner but I have never tried it, nor have I tried to obtain an interface board for a newer computer. For as little as I use this device, it works fine for me. Honestly, I would like to get a semi-automatic slide input device for this machine, but any I have found have been over twice the origonal price. (Hint if you have one!). Best of luck.
