Suitable wide angle lens for Nikon d 7100.
I have a Nikon 18-140mm but would like a wider( not ultra wide) lens for landscape and street groups photography based on use if possible.
Thank you for your suggestions.

I used the Tokina 11-16mm on my D7100. Nice lens for a reasonable price.
I have the Tokina 11-20 f2.8 on my 7200 and like Jerry it's a great lens!
I use a Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 on my D7100 when I need the extra viewing angle.
Tamron 15-30 is an excellent lens, as well as the Nikon 14-24. are. Both lenses are FX.

Jerry understates the quality of this lens.
I like the range of the Tamron 10-24mm and I understand that it has been upgraded recently. Nikon also produces a 10-24mm. I often found myself using the 24mm end of the lens when shooting landscapes.

That's an understatement!

Your landscapes don't look ridiculous enough with 18mm?

I use that Tokina on my D7100, an awesome lens. It is my go to lens when just casually strolling.

I have the Tamron 10-24mm (this is a DX lens) and it is pretty good if you don't zoom all of the way to 10mm...(11 or 12mm out to 24 works good but 10mm tends to have a slight fisheye). I've been told that the Nikon version of this lens doesn't have the fisheye issues. Note that this is a DX lens and will put any FX camera it is used on into DX mode or will ONLY expose the center 2/3rds of the full frame sensor.
There are some good choices for wide angle on the D7100, however, I got frustrated with the Crop Sensor 1.5 multiplication factor and added a full frame camera to my arsenal. I generally use it for my wide to normal shots and my DX for my normal to telephoto shots.

Are you talking about the older version or the new version? I have the old version and use it primarily for landscapes and never did use it an 10mm. I used it mostly at the wider end which is why I prefer it over the Tokina 11-16.

Mine is probably the older version. I've had it for 4 years or so, but I'm not sure.. It was a birthday present from the wife (I wanted the Nikon but it was $400 more and probably because it had much better reviews) so I wasn't able to have any input. She purchased it from a local camera store (since went out of business). And I don't know how long they had it on hand before they sold it.
