I take lots of photos, and hate to have to go through each batch and individually change the size. Is it possible to batch size each set of photos?

There is really no need to resize except to make thumbnails for posting or sharing raw's. Just crop to the final aspect ratio.

Sure it's possible......
1. Set up an action of what you want to do,
2. Goto Bridge and select the photos to be resized (or what ever else),
3. Under Tools-Photoshop-Batch, select your action and run it.

Yes it is definitely possible. I use Elements 8 to batch process from time to time. If it's as easy as it is for Elements 8 it should be quick and easy. Looks like you have some great instructions for getting it done.

I just processed a multitude of photos in CS5 using actions and batch processing. I processed about 1500 pics {resize and save as jpg} . After I started the program, I went away and let the computer work away. After about 5 or 6 hours they were done. I found out how to do it from the "Missing Manual Photoshop CS5" by Lesa Snider.

I've been using lightroom 4, and It has a resize option during the export. You can can lower the dpi or set the resolution to fit within a certain window. Works Great. I use this especially for facebook fotos.
