Has anyone used or tried this product its claims to back up all photos and videos on a PC/mac and and check for duplicates. not sure how useful it would be as it only goes to 128gb a click and go item

If you are referring to what I think you are, it's nothing more than a glorified flash drive. Not worth the money IMHO....

Can't find any reviews by reputable magazines or on reputable photography sites.

It sounds like a 128GB flash drive, or is it software? There are lots of programs that will find duplicates. I use Duplicate File Finder.

I found it on Amazon. According to one of the reviews, the software must search for file names with popular photo file extensions (i.e. jpg). It also appears to ignore folders, so you come up with a long list with no reference point to where and when the photo was taken other than the meta data. See for yourself at https://www.amazon.com/ThePhotoStick-Click-Photo-Video-Backup/dp/B01N5XPZ49/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1501775250&sr=8-5&keywords=the+photo+stick

Sounds like a lot of duplicate file names given how most cameras name files.

Still nothing more than a glorified Flash drive with some software loaded on it. 128mb is tiny... I have over 4 tb on my HDD's. Plus the price is a bit over the top. You can but 128gb Flash drives for under $30, some as low as $10 depending on who made them.

I would not buy it, either. You can purchase one with 128 GB, not MB.

That one on Amazon is 128gb (I mis-typed it as 128mb), but that is still a small capacity. Geez, makes me think back when a 10mb HDD was a lot (my old IBM PCXT), and before that floppies as HDDs (Atari computer-forget the name).

In the mid 80's I had an AT&T 3B2 with a whopping 30MB drive. UNIX rocked!

You can get a 128GB flash drive for less than half that cost. Get free software to locate duplicate files.
