I made a lot of night shots at the Palouse but also at Olympic NP a few days later.
This one was shot about 1/4 mile past the Hurricane Ridge Visitor center. There is a sharp corner with a spot just enough for parking one car.
It has a beautiful view of the mountain range. You can see in the back ground the Olympic mountain range thanks to the snow what makes it somewhat visible.

Spectacular, you even got a couple of meteors. Would you share your equipment and shooting info?

I used a Sony A7r with the Carl Zeiss 16-35mm set at 16mm. Tripod: Gitzo with Novoflex ballhead 5
Settings: ISO 640 / Aperture 2.8 / Shutter 30 sec.
Rule is to divide 500 by 16 (your focal length) what will give you roughly 30 seconds.
I like to stick around 25 seconds because at 30 sec with a 16mm focal length you start to see a slight streak because of the earth movement.
You may need to pump up the ISO by one stop to compensate.

Forgot to mentioned to use manual focus and manual setting. Make things a lot easier to do these kind of shots.

Great shot. Thanx for giving the exposure data. I'd like to try one like this next time I get away from DelMarVa's light pollution.

Summertime in general is the best time to photograph the milky way on a clear sky with no moon. Of course no light pollution but some is okay like in this picture
That is all the light from the town Sequim
