I shot these with a Soft Focus optic, which comes with 3 apertures that have different size circles. I went with the middle one, which is somewhere around 6 something. I was surprised when I converted the shots from raw to jpeg that there was a distorted effect that wasn't so apparent on the raw versions. So these are right out of the camera even though they appear to have some pp done to them. I'm not sure whether I like this result or not. Next time I'll try a different aperture.

Beautiful flowers and shots, Jane and a very unusual effect, it almosts looks like a posterizing filter!! I just watched a video with Kathleen, it must have been an old one, but she said the soft focus was her favorite for flower photography!! I'm looking forward to getting mine.
Thanks for sharing and have fun playing with your new baby!!

Thanks, Angela! I'll have to look for that video with Kathleen and see how her shots came out. I'm going to try the other apertures too.

Jane I just watched it again... she really doesn't go into what aperture she used, but it looks to me that she added a screw on macro to the front. She was really close to the dahlia!!

Let me know where you saw the video. I checked youtube and didn't find anything with the soft focus. I do have the screw on macro filters. Thanks.
These are all beautiful shots, Jane! I like them all.
I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks, Cathy. I'm not sure I like the effect. Time to change apertures and see what the other two bring!
