My first loon shots

Some friends of ours live on a lake. We stopped for a visit 3 days ago. While sitting on some lawn chairs looking out in the water, there were a couple loons swimming. Our friends took us out on their pontoon so I could get closer. I had just purchased a new Canon 100-400L IS II USM lens so thought this would be a great time to try it. Very happy with my results!!! I think I was within 30 feet. I did crop these photos somewhat. Have had my Canon Rebel T6s for a year and a half.

Very nice shots of this wonderful bird. I've seen a lot of good bird photos on UHH that were made with that lens. Have fun!
