Horse drawn buggies like this were the forunners of today's pickup trucks now so widely used.
Today we see them only as yard ornaments.
Imagine sitting for hours in this buggy driving down bumpy dirt roads!!!

I think the reason they fell out of use was not so much the comfort factor, it's just that there was no place to hang your rifle in the rear window, and confederate flag bumper stickers just didn't stick!
