A high and a low in a horse trials.

Aston Horse Trials near Banbury, England. The high was designed to take advantage of the sky behind, while the low was unexpected as the light was bad and horses (4 in all) could not see properly. This was withdrawn after the 4th faller. Horse was unhurt, rider went on round a srcond time on another horse, came 4th. This was an exercise in getting the best out of the water splashes!

Thankyou Dave. There was a choice from the sequence and I thought stirrup was best as it relates to both horse and rider!

Is the second pic the landing for the jump in the first pic?

No, quite separate. The second pic is the middle of another 3-part obstacle.. There was a log, landing was downhill into the water, part of a stream, with branches overhanging (which stopped the light later in the day) then an exit uphill over another treetrunk. It wasn't really much of a fence until it caused problems, but it was the omly one I could get to after the uphill one.
Perhaps I should have added another, quite separate fence , just before the uphill one. See attached.
