Glad you enjoyed these, Sylvia... I started #1 from a seedling, the tree is about 18" tall and in a pot, I really want to keep it contained, almost like a bonsai!!

Do you know what it is, it is so pretty?

It's just a red maple tree... I googled it and it could be a Japanese Bloodgood Maple {maybe}

I find the new leaves are bright red, but the older ones are green/red... but it's a baby and I need to care for her!! LOL

Make sure you feed her and keep her warm in the winter!

Thanks so much, Donna for your always kind and encouraging words... did you read what I told Sylvia... I started this from a little sapling and I have it in a pot, it's about 18" tall and I'm thinking I'd like to make it into a bonsai, so I keep clipping it back.

I was wondering why yours still had the beautiful red leaves. The leaves look exactly like the one in our yard, but its leaves are green now with just a tinge of red. It's only red in spring and fall. A bonsai would be lovely!

That's exactly how this is, the new leaves come up red and then turn green with a very little twinge of red. So if I keep cutting, I get the color!
