I'm doing the Silvertone-is-back dance!

I love them! I, too, think your daughter's is my favorite but also enjoy the dragonfly.

Glad to see your shots back on Ugly! Look forward to more.

Thank you tk...the one my daughter likes was just one of my test shots to see what kind of lighting would keep my background black for another shot that didn't include any kind of flower...

So I'm in learning mode. Can you explain how you got it? My new lesson is light and focus which is, for me, the two hardest concepts. I know what I like but have a hard time wrapping my mind around the numbers and getting my eyes on the proper focus. I've been taking MWAC's lessons and I'm getting better.

Hey tk I'll try I'm not real good at explaining .... The flower was setup on my counter top with the sun coming through my camp door which is that funny glass with a screen...it diffused the light...it was shining through on the left..I setup a black poster board behind the flower...the camera..1/160 f5.6. ISO 200. Man. 80mm. Flash fired....I had a white cup sitting to the side that I used to lock my white balance in so everything was dark except some sun until I took the shot and fired the flash... When it was over the background was black and the flower was bright.. I don't know if this helps any...let me know :-D

Explanations for me are to make me thing through the process of the settings and why. It will be a long time before I can do artistic stuff but at least I'm out of auto most of the time.
Thanks you for the lesson.

The Dragonflly grabs my attention. I think it is emotionally evocative.
