It does not change the fact that when arriving in the US from certain airports like the one in Istanbul, cameras have to go into checked luggage. I like the food on Turkish airlines and I will be flying from Tel Aviv to Philadelphia in October with a change of planes in Istanbul, so I bought a Pelican case to put my insured cameras in and hope they won't get stolen.

I don't have a problem with this, but if there are airports that do not allow you to take your gear as a carry-on, I suspect I will not be going there.
No problem with me as long as I can carry my cameras.
