My friends and I went on a backpacking trip through the Lamar River Valley in Yellowstone in 2013. This valley was consumed by the fire in 1988. Twenty five years later, the area is showing signs of life. Here are some pictures of a recovering eco-system. Pictures taken with a Cannon T3 and Nikon D90.

Great shots. We were in Yellowstone in 1990 and at that time grasses, weeds and tree seedlings were already starting to cover the ground next to burned remains of adult trees. Its good to see that many made it to such heights as shown in your photos. We're longing to go back.

Thanks |simpikins! I was there in 1976 and went on a ranger-let hike. She pointed out all the downed trees and noted that the best thing for the area would be a fire. Well they got a pretty good one. It's interesting to hear about your experiences and link them with these shots.
