Regarding your focus question - I believe that a portion of each photo is in focus. However, the EXIF data shows that all three were taken at f/2.8. That will definitely limit how much of each image either in front of or behind the plane of focus actually looks sharp. Of course my EXIF viewer could be misleading me, but its usually correct.

I shot on program so I will shoot on manual next time and go to 5.6

I don't think f/5.6 is going to do the trick. I suggest that you use depth of field preview on your camera and/or a DOF smart phone app. You can also "chimp" to see if a shot you've taken has the desired DOF.

On my phone app, at the 140mm focal length of one of your photos and a subject distance of 20ft., the DOF is only ~1.4ft. total around your focus point at f/5.6. At 70mm, 20ft. subject distance, and f/5.6 everything from 17.6' to 23.2' would be in focus. You may have to increase ISO to permit both the smaller apertures, and high enough shutter speed to preclude motion blur. Its always a trade-off. Hope this helps.

Beautiful shots, cyberbo60! They don't look out of focus to me...but then what do I know? Even on double download they looked. Possibly the duck might look just a little out of focus. I think they're beautiful shots!

The cabin looks reasonably sharp, but not so with the others.
You should watch your vertical and horizontal lines the cabin looks to be leaning to the left. Easily corrected in post .
