Thank you for that excellent response. When I visited the Galapagos and Machu Pichu last year I took around 2400 pictures. That was 15 days. Africa will be 27 days. So I will up my storage for sure. What about a couple of 128gb cards? I am going to trade my 55-200 for a 55-300 lens. What do you feel the difference between the D3200 and D3300 is?

My only hesitation with a card as big as a 128gb is that if the card fails you run the potential of loosing a lot of photos, but I do understand the risk is low, so it is your call. As to the difference between the D3200 and D3300, there is not a lot of difference. Here is a link that compares the two cameras:

If you do decide to purchase a second camera body and you are happy with the D3200, then you may wish to purchase a second D3200 as then regardless which body you have in hand, everything will be the same from a handling point of view and in the heat of the moment, that is a good thing in my opinion. As for trading in your 55-200 for a 55-300, that is a personal choice that only you can decide if the extra 300mm is worth the cost of trading to the 55-300mm lens.
All the best, Garth

Good point on the card. I have loads of SDcards of all sizes. I'll stick with a pocket full of 32gb cards. Thanks
