Used/refurbished photography equipment

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but does anyone know of any places, besides adorama, that sells used photography equipment like lenses and stuff? Even lighting would be great. I wanna expand what I have but I have to do that on a college student budget.

Also there is Abe's Photo, Beach Camera, Amazon and Ugly Hedge Hog has a buy/sell forum. In Amazon make sure there is a return policy, in the others they all reliable

Most manufacturers sell refurbished equipment. Most of what I have was bought refurbished or gotten from ebay.

I have firsthand experience with Adorama. They have great pre and post sale service and their merchandise is great. I have purchased used lenses from them that came in new boxes and looked like they have never been mounted on a camera before. Reasonable prices and they ship the same day.

I don't know where you are in NY, but B&H is in NY. If you can get to their store, I have heard that they offer great in-person assistance (a well as great customer service on-line).

actually best prices ARE NOT ON EBAY. I spent several days comparing prices on Nikon equipment on amazon, ebay adorama b+h photo and KEH.com The consistently lower prices I found were on KEH.com, America's largest used camera dealer. I bought a d-100 from them that was rated bgn but actually was in excellent condition except for 4 minor scratches on the body and some easily remove stickum on the body. I paid 160 for it and it came with a free 6 month warranty. (try finding that on ebay.) they fix in house what they sell and right now they have reduced their prices up to another 10%. for the same camera i bought at keh, amazon wanted 250-300, and on ebay 275-500. Plus as a reputable company you can trust them.

True. ebay is an auction, so prices can vary wildly, depending on who is bidding.
As for the stores that sell on ebay, you have to compare their prices with other camera stores. Many actual camera stores also have an ebay division, so it's just like comparing prices for anything else.
