How do I create a new custom crop i.e.: 11x14 etc.

While in the crop tool, click on the up/down arrows next to the lock icon (below and to the right). Select 'enter custom' from the drop down and enter desired size in the 'aspect ratio' field.

If I type in 11x14 will it then convert it to the correct ratio? If I move the border will it still be an 11x14?

...it will. When you click on the up/down arrows next to the padlock, a list will come up of some stock sizes, but there's an "enter manual" entry there, too. Click on it and enter your desired size. The crop window around your photo will reflect that, and the ratio will not change as you drag it in or out. Also, now you will find your new "custom" sizing is a part of that original list so you can go there at will.

Thanks. My error was that after I cropped,( without exporting), I went to adobe photoshop to check the image size and it was not what I had typed in. Then it dawned on me that the conversion to image size was done at export. I exported the image and it was as I had typed into the ratio window. Thanks.

...yes, I find when I bring a photo up to PS to tweak, I always have to check the sizing just to be sure...because I haven't officially exported the file yet!

The LR crop feature only allows for a ratio and not an actual inches, meters etc. The ratio will always be reduced to the lowest term. If you type a ratio of 24 x 36, LR will show you 2 x 3, the lowest term for that ratio. When printing, that ratio will cover sizing from 2"x3", 4"x6", 6"x9", 8"x12", 10"x15", 12"x18" etc.

...*that's* why I have to check sizing in Photoshop! Thanks for the concept!
