I took my wife to the gun range so she could try out my new Smith and Wesson 44 magnum 2.75" barrel. The magnum ammo stings my hand pretty good.

She shot 5 rounds of 44 special and said it felt like shooting our 45 revolver. Then she loaded the magnum and fired a round. A sexy grin came across her face and then she fired off the other four rounds. She said "Thanks for my conceal carry gun." She picked up the rest of the box of 44 magnum ammo and put them in her purse along with the revolver.

Over 2 pounds with a barrel less than 3 inches long!
That's a chuck of metal.
Did I catch that right? MY new S and W.
Now it's hers.

You da man.

I'm sure this is all very interesting, especially to gun nuts, but what the hell is it doing in a photography forum in the general section?

Fortunately it will probably get bounced to links and resources, chit-chat, or the Attic soon. Did you buy a selfie stick to go with it?

Having looked at some of your posts, I'm sorry for the troubles you are experiencing, but it makes me wonder whether you should be allowed to be anywhere near firearms. Hopefully you won't become yet another of those "Good Guy with a Gun" types that goes bad and kills a bunch of people.

My favorite target revolver was my S&W K-38 which I used for center fire competition when I shot as a member of my army base pistol team. So good luck on getting a new handgun. However, since this is a photography related forum, I thought you were going to tell us that you are getting a new camera or a top lens!

That 44 with the red dot scope and muzzle brake looks like a race gun for competition. Doug Koenig is a world champion of a few times. I have shot in tourneys against some of these and they are really loud but very accurate. With a 4 lb trigger you should be able to have a great time. The S&W Performance Center does a beautiful job on their pistols.

Shooting a gun is a lot like photography!

Everybody is always looking for newer, bigger, better.

It is known that the larger the aperture of the barrel the better the piece will fulfill your needs.

the gun doesn't really have a shutter speed, but there is shutter with all that power.

And, as in photography, we all know our wives are better shots!

Well Peterff...you can just go Peter Off somewhere! VA team says its good therapy for me to take the guns to the range and shoot a couple hundred rounds a week. Check the price of ammo if you want.

My wife's edc is a pt738 with a 2.84 barrel and it only weighs 10.2 oz unloaded. My edc is a pt740 slim with a 3.2 barrel and weighs 19 oz.
I will bet that .44 mag has a recoil.

That loudness and the recoil on the revolvers I have recently bought helps with my ptsd. Im not able to drive for a while so my wife is driving us to various ranges and hanging out at gun stores. She is self employed so can set her own schedule. Doc says its good for me.

Go to the top of the page and it says "Main Photography Forum". Maybe a little agent orange was sprinkled on the OP :)

This is the wrong forum and the wrong section. Be aware that in addition to the gun nuts here there may be people that have suffered from gun violence, and your attitude is not appreciated when it is in the wrong place.

So in this instance, if you can't even tell where to post a message or respond without getting aggressive I'm even more convinced that you aren't responsible enough to be anywhere near firearms, regardless of whether your VA doc thinks it's good for. It may not be good for anyone near you.

If you are not fit to drive, and cannot identify where to post messages properly, then there are many that would consider you unfit to be anywhere near something that is specifically designed to kill.

Aggression management with a powerful firearm? That really is an interesting approach to therapy.

Yeah along with STFU. Like my mom told me, if you don't have anything good to say ...
