preparing for Mars

Saturn is sure taking it's time to get into position for collecting data this year. So, I'm sharpening my skills on Mars from opposition last year with the Levenhuk T510NG color cam.

That looks like a pretty good image of Mars. I think you missed the best position for Saturn for this year. It was at opposition a few weeks ago and I think it's moving further away now. From my position up here in the Puget Sound, even in clear skies, Saturn is so low on the horizon the "seeing" is really bad.

Last night , I couldn't take it anymore and was sitting at the helm waiting for the clouds and heat lightening to leave so I could get my alignment and just barely missed bitting the bullet when all Hell broke loose.

Gotta use a bit higher magnification to see those proposed landing sites!

Looks good Ronnie.
Any sharpening of the skills is a good thing.
And unlike some companies firmware getting stale on the shelf, I find data never fades.

My WiFi went crazy last night. By the time I got it working, I couldn't get an alignment.
So I quite before resorting to my 2 pound adjustment tool.

No moon , no clouds but, oppressive heat , humidity and bugs from the backyard site. I was going for m71 globular with my asi174 and working on my other Jerry rigged cam and it'll be tested to see if I can achieve focus after contact cementing a 1 1/4 nosepiece to it.

I tried to find the original , it's on one of my many data sticks that's not labelled sorry. I'll keep looking Craig while my hand controller or is it the rig that's sick, I'm tearing it down and trying to locate the fault.
