That's is excellent advice provided he has a "Canyon" camera body, and not a Nike camera body.

I used the Tamron 10-24mm wide angle lens on my Nikon D7000 when we were at the Grand Canyon. I found myself using it primarily at 24mm (on a crop camera). I think you'll use your lens more toward the narrower end of it. However, being an L lens, you should get some great photos.
