...prices are nice! I'm already SSD'd through my systems, but they're all SATA drives...now am eyeing the PCIe units that plug directly into your motherboard; stupid fast, some say twice as fast as a SATA SSD. These are ideal for the C drive, but a bit pricier. I want 1TB but am still squeaking...maybe when the price goes down another hundred, lol...

Check your Bus speed on motherboard if it will handle speed of the drive.

And be sure to have lots of memory (RAM) installed... If you're processing images, I'd suggest at least 16GB preferably 32GB. Of course an i7 processor doesn't hurt! And while we're at it a really fast motherboard helps.

...I've been checking these out for awhile and did the due diligence. Both my main machines are fairly current. When I'm processing thousands of shots per gig, if I save a couple of seconds each, it adds up! So I'm motivated, that's for sure!

Thanks for the link. I've been kicking it around for a while. On the fence on if I just want a new desktop with SSD drive, or if I would be fine replacing just the drive.
How does one get the operating system transferred over, or do you have to purchase a new copy of Win10?
I'm guessing moving the programs would be a little easier? As you can tell, I'm not a tech guy.
They are good prices especially for the M.2 drives.

It comes with a utility program, which transfers your hard disc onto SSD. That includes operating system also.

Without knowing your existing system and what you are doing, there is no way anybody can tell you if you will be fine.
The SSD drive comes with a free Acronis program which will transfer all the files, Windows etc.. on your new SSD.

Yeah, I realized that. I don't even know what system I have right now. It's been in a box for a few months now. We had the slab on our house crack, so had to get that repaired, the repair failed, caused several other issues, ceiling falling in, roof had to be replaced, etc. Then.......the slab cracked again!! In the middle of all this, our lake place was in a major flood, almost 18" of water inside, so it's been interesting....and I've been hemorrhaging money.
Doing on my work on a laptop right now. Once I get to a place where I can get my desktop back out, it will seem like heaven again. I just know that at times, even with 16gb of ram. (which should be plenty for CC)
Thanks for the info. That Acronis program ability was the one thing stopping me before, now the prices are so attractive, can't see a good reason not to dig further.
