Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive

This location is one of the best in Florida for viewing wildlife, whether by riding the 11 mile drive in your car or from one of its walking paths. Also, it is not far from Orlando so visitors to the theme parks can also explore some nature. It's free, which is nice.

These photos were taken July 8 during a visit curtailed by very heavy thunderstorms. At this time, Swallow-tailed Kites are migrating though in massive numbers.

Thank you for looking in and taking the time to comment. There are 367 species known to make the lake home, I didn't see but a tiny percentage of those. I did omit the common herons and egrets that we get to see every day.
