I've been using a Go Daddy for my photo business web hosting since 1999 ....the early days.
Now being retired I'd still like to have a web presence.
There is a lot of experience here on UHH.
I'm hoping you can recommend a photo hosting site, that I can easily build a web gallery and and utilize my same email address?

Ease of use to design a gallery and cost are a factor as this is a luxury and not a necessity.

A lot has changed since the early days and I'm not sure where to start my research.

Thanks in advance for all your help and advice.

Smugmug

If you do go with them, use a members smugmug site to get a discount off your first year for you and that person.

If you need an address to use, mine can be found by clicking on my user name.

Thanks

I just watched the Smug Mug video on how to keep my domain name....which is currently registered with Go Daddy.

Do I still need a separate host like Go Daddy to use these services?
Then this "stuff" rolls over to my Internet provider ......Verizon so I can get my email?

I guess I'm over thinking this? Which is why I haven't made changes in 20 years.

All suggestions are welcome.

If you use the Adobe products with a fee, not the stand alone version, there is a web site included in the package; I don't think a lot of people are aware of this. I use a company called Network Solutions, they are ok, but I like the designs offered by Weebly better and I have a site, there, too.

Have a look at SlicPic. I used the free version for awhile and upgraded to paid version a couple of years ago. I think I pay about $us50 a year. That way you get things like right click disabled, website and email name.
They have a very good support guy (Sam) when setting up things. He answers emails quickly no matter how dumb the question sometimes.
Cheers

I use Weebly.com for my photos for clients as well as my own personal work. I use a paid version, but there is also a free version as well. I like the simplicity of it; photos can be organized by subject, with comments (or not) and run one by one for the viewer as well as slideshow style. Loading your images is simple too. Give it a look-see.

While I do not have a website, I do have photos on an online site. I use 500px at the free level, but they do offer a paid level that includes some sort of website. Worth checking out. Have also heard good things about Smugmug and Zenfolio, but don't know much about them.

I was using Flickr, and liked it until my page somehow became inaccessible. It was good while it was OK, but terrible when it wasn't. I tried to get help, but the online computerized help is about all they offer, no response from real people. And I discovered others had my same problem. The only time I received a response was when I tried [as a last resort] to submit my complaint as an abuse! The referred me back to the online stuff, and when I tried to explain that was not working, I ended up getting a message that my case was closed as being "resolved"! Not nice. As a result, I would caution you to find out if a site you are considering has real people who will answer questions. That was why I definitely would NOT recommend Flickr.
