It is not an easy thing to shoot and get a beautiful shot with these lenses. Great fun but what a workout for the brain! I bought the Sweet 50 with 8mm and 16mm converters and have been trying to figure it all out today. Rain cut me short but tomorrow is another day. Think I will watch more tutorials before I venture out. I do believe I will love the Sweet 50 as I do my Velvet 56. Let's keep shooting!!!!

Sandy, you did great your first time out!!! Love them all.... beautiful, with gorgeous colors and perfect amount of blur and bokeh!!!
The Sweet 50 is my favorite and I use only with the 8mm macro, it brings you in close, but not too much!!
I think the trick when using any Lensbaby is the lighting, color and size of what you are shooting and I also use the back tilt live view when I shoot, because you can get really creative angles without any bending!! IMO.

Now if you really want a brain workout, try the plastic optic!! I just bought one on Amazon and did more deleting than ever, but after many tries, I did get a bunch of keepers and this optic creates a very different effect, especially for me!

Always fun to play with our babies and one is certainly never enough!! LOL

A beautiful bunch, Sandy. The colors are awesome, and I love the blur and dreamy backgrounds. Everyone seems to love their Sweet 50's and I can see why. I gives a nice effect, and you've done a great job of showing its talents.
You're so right about these lenses being a workout for the brain, and I know my brain could use some exercise every now and then.
Keep up the great demos, and thanks for sharing.

Thank you much. It takes effort for sure. Not just snap and go. I too use the tilt screen so that I can get low. That plus my campstool help me a great deal. Otherwise I would be declared missing and they would find me rolling around on the ground somewhere, camera in hand, trying to get up. I told my grands the other day that I wanted to try a paddle board but got to thinking, how the heck do I think I am going to pop up to stand up on the thing.

Thank you for encouraging comments Donna. I have a long way to go for sure. Practice-practice and one day it will click.

So happy you enjoyed all. Love my Velvet but do love that there is that spot of sharper focus with Sweet 50.
