Last week at this time my wife and I were wandering through a meadow in West Virgina. We were looking for birds, but suddenly I noticed this dime-sized character instead.
It's a butterfly species called skipper. Very pretty!

I barely noticed these guys at first {it turns out the meadow was full of them} because they would sit for a while and then suddenly dart over to another flower. Once I did notice, taking the picture was more work than I anticipated {300mm on my Q-7 is like trying to use over 900mm on my K-30 or nearly 1400mm on FF}, but it was worth it.
