Bald eagle. This character was screeching up a storm as I was walking near a riverbank. It was in the top most branch of the tree, taken with a 100-400 probably at 375 hand held shooting into a high sky. Yes, it is dark. I prefer it that way.

Thanks. He/she "sang" for about 15 minutes straight. I checked around to see if there was a chick in distress or some other disturbance, could not find any.

the emotions conveyed perfectly, looks pretty upset to me also. Hopefully there was no real issue and in the best of worlds, it had a happy energy that we misread

Very nice. My first impression was that I would like to see more detail in the bird. Then I gave some thought to your expressed preference for having the photo dark. It began to make sense to me and I think I agree with you. By not having so much detail to ponder, you focus on what the bird is doing; and I think that is what you wanted to capture here. Well done.

While I understand what has been discussed here I think some toning down of the darker cloud curve above the tree right would lessen the distraction from your subject....

Nothing to try , just a suggestion randomeyes...I'm sure you're very capable of achieving the look you want to present..

I like the dark effect you've achieved, whilst agreeing with Frank that the cloud streak could be lessened. At first I thought a complete silhouette might be good too, but the position of the bird would then look awkward - you've got it just right.
