Nikon 7500

For my wife's birthday I upgraded her from a D90 to the 7500, I have a 7200. Problem is PS/ACR won't recognize the raw file. Could Adobe have not come out with updates yet? My 7200 works fine but is of course old. The disk was formatted when put in the camera. Could this be true? Any free software to open raw files for PS?

Adobe DNG Converter. Works like a charm, translating your NEF (if that's what they still are) files into DNG. Makes them much more universal, and sometimes a little smaller. You can download it free from Adobe.

Thanks - then open the dng file in PS?

Oh sure; it's all Adobe - the file syntax, the converter, and of course PS and Lightroom. You'll just be leaving the Nikon kernels (wrong word, I'm sure) behind. DNG can then be saved as tiff, jpg, whatever just like your NEF files.

Should be in an update soon. You should be able to download the Nikon software...or have it on a CD.

Yup, still waiting on the update for the D7500. Seems slower to get here than usual.
