I just found out Nikon has (been out for a few months) new updates for the D3300....New firmware for camera and one for the lens also. It allows the use of the new AF-P lenses.... Has anyone performed these updates? Any problems......it looks pretty straight forward...The lens update makes the VR better.

They can be found here http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/products/21/D3300.html

I've never had any issues with any Nikon firmware updates. Best of luck.

You could have downloaded the Nikon Messenger Center and been notified of all Nikon updates without waiting "a few months.

Just be sure to read and follow the instructions for applying the updates and start with a freshly charged battery in the camera, and you should have no problems. And "Rule Number 1:" It will require some time for the update to be processed and loaded into the proper location. Do not turn anything off until the displays tell you it's OK.

Larry- can you use a wall /battery adapter unit instead of 1 battery since "it will require some time....OK" ??? just asking.
