Harvesting Wheat

On a fishing trip this weekend to Lake Erie this man was harvesting wheat next door to where i was staying.
Shot this with my trusty old Canon G10 which I take on all my trips. Hope you like it.

Spent quite a few hours driving headers like that. But that was many years ago - no cabs so very hot and dusty

They're an awesome machine to see working. When I worked in the Ag industry, our longest cutting platforms were 30 feet wide, but now up around 40 or more.
To see what goes in then what comes out, is amazing. The inner workings are quite intriguing.
I used to climb into the guts of them to do repairs, but I'm allergic to wheat dust & id come out wheezy.
I worked for a John Deere dealer for 10 years, & consider the JD the yardstick of Ag machinery.
As Caterpillar is to earth moving machinery.
