I would also be interested in the course you mentioned "photoshop for lightroom users" . Could you please post the details? Thanks.

"Would you share the details of the course you mention? I am also a LR user trying to learn Photoshop."

"I would also be interested in the course you mentioned "photoshop for lightroom users" . Could you please post the details? Thanks."

The course is from Matt Kloskowski at his website: http://mattk.com/ Matt calls it the "Photoshop System". It is his newest course. He has other courses there too.

There are more than a few courses on Photoshop. I've worked (mostly) through a couple. They seem to assume an approach that everything can or should be done in Photoshop alone. Matt's course is the first one I found that assumes Lightroom is the primary host and foundation of the student's photography. The assumption is that you make major and routine adjustments in Lightroom and, only when you need something more, that you elect to "Edit in Photoshop".

I'll second Matt K's courses. His Lightroom course is fantastic and I've just started the Photoshop course he offers. The course are well designed and easy to follow.

I've tried a number of photo editing software programs. My take in brief: Paint Shop Pro for Windows is non destructive, intuitive to use and takes Topaz plugins. Switching over to Mac, Affinity is non destructive, more computer resource friendly than PS making it fast, takes Topaz plugins, intuitive to use with a fine ground up modern platform. It is also now available on Windows though I haven't tried that version. The icing on the cake with Affinity is the IPad app, it's a class on its own and can sync with the Mac.

I have never used anything except Corel PaintShop Pro. It's an excellent program, user friendly and at a good price. Don't have to pay a monthly fee. Once you have registered your PaintShop software, you can get updates for a reasonable amount. Go for PaintShop Pro.

Check out Capture One. I started with the free software, then upgraded to Capture One Pro10. Paid $50. Then $40 for upgrade. That's it. No subscription. I also use Topaz Studio as a standalone which is free.
