Saw this scene on my way home the other evening and couldn't pass up the "photo-op". Did not have my DSLR, however, so got this photo with my iPhone 5. It is amazing to me to see how good the cell phone cameras are. And, the newer models are a lot better than this!
Thanks, AzPicLady and jaymatt... Sometimes, a really good photo op just smacks you in the face with "Take My Photo now, Dummy!" And, there was no time to go home and get a better camera. So, I got lucky...
Nice photo and well done. I have used cell phones, P&S cameras and DSLR's to take photos, the first two can take good photos under certian conditions but with my DSLR I can take a great photo in all conditions. DSLR'S
also give me the best photographic experience. I often times go on single and multi day photo trips, and because of the DSLR and the ability to use any type of lens I can give my photos any look that I want.
Cell phones, even though they have the ability to take a good photo would not inspire me to leave the house around midnight, drive five hours to photograph a sunrise.
During my wife's, daughters wedding, most of her friends took photos with their I-Phones, then posted them to face book. The quality of the photos were so bad that you could not print a single one. so yes you can get a good photo from an I-Phone but I do not consider them as a camera but a camera function. No mode dial, tripod socket, no true lens, no ISO or aperture, WB or shutter speed control and no cabel release. and if you tell me to download an app to change the look of a photo, my responce would be: App rymes with Rap and their both crap.

Thanks for your comment... And, I agree that one of my DSLRs and the appropriate lens would take a much better photo. But, they weren't available at the time (Shame on me!
), as I was on my home from an event in town and saw this scene that I just couldn't pass up. The photo was taken from the shoulder of the road. I got out, walked around to the front of the car and got the shot. No time to go get a better camera... Sometimes, you have to make-do with whatcha got!
Really beautiful, Gitchigumi!
