This little beauty kept circling and perching on a flower stem near my front stoop. I wasn't planning on taking any macros today, but he (at least I THINK it's a "he") just made it so tempting.
Heck of a set, nice work!

Thanks Rick. It's often a real challenge to get close to some dragonflies. But this one just....... sat there........ and let me move right in.
The downloads are fabulous.

really nice shots
Thanks Tom. I used to get a lot of my dragonfly photos out in my driveway when they would frequently perch on my car antenna. But we traded cars and now there is no true outside antenna for them to perch on. This guy gave me a brief second option.

Great idea! I have an herb garden next to my driveway and it would be a perfect place for a few stakes. I'll do that tomorrow!!
Beautiful. These are some excellent macros.
Very good, and wow, it sure let you come in close. I see a lot of these where I am, and they are always entertaining. As you describe, they frequently zip out and come back to their perch. They often contest perching rights with other Odonates, and it if fun to watch the drama.
