pond skaters...
....and a Comma butterfly. I saw a Peacock butterfly through the lounge window and dashed out to shoot it but it flew away and this Comma appeared instead.
I watched these 2 Pond Skaters for a while. The small, I assume a male, was furtively creeping up on the larger one and then pounced on her. I don't think mating occurred because he was there for only a second or so. He then went off to sulk. I understand that the females retain a supply of sperm to avoid frequent matings and the danger to her from predators from below the water.
Very nice set, especially on download.
The middle skater shot detail is excellent.

You have a good starting point then, get out your spade.
Very good. And good observations on pond skaters. I have not seen them out of water before.

Thanks Mark, they were on a Lily leaf at that moment but normally on the water surface tension.
