I just purchased PE 10 and would like to purchase a good book for learning this program.

In looking at some of the comments, at Amazon on the book by the Adobe team, it seems that their book puts more emphasis on organizing than on editing.

You can't go wrong with Scott Kelby's books on PSE.

Welcome to UHH. My favorite book is Teach Yourself Visually PSE 10. Like it better than PSE 10, Scott's book or PSE 10 for Dummies.

and if you get on youtube.com, you can do a search on Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and find a lot of free videos on how to do things with Elements.

I have been using different versions of Photo Shop Elements for years. I just went in and started exploring. The former references are good. There are also workshops in many areas. It's (P.E. 10) a great piece of software, does almost every Single Photosop does with smaller learning curve. I also use filters from Alien Skin software and onOne(Perfect Photo Suite 6.1 software.) Good luck.

Hi,

Scott Kelby has been already suggested and I second that idea; all ofhis books are great. Also, I've found Rick Petersen's elements training to be very helpful. It free and online. Here is the link if you are interested:

Don't forget Adobe TV great there are many videos for PSE. From my experience don't try to "learn" PSE it is a hard elephant to swallow. Try this, make a list of about 5 techniques you want to learn. Learn one, practice it until you are comfortable with it, then on to the next one. Repeat until you know the basic tasks of post processing. This will give you a sound foundation of PSE and a learning method for other things as well. Hope this helps.

This book is awesome - I recommend it to all of my students. I also like the Photoshop Elements Techniques newsletter - with subscription there are over 800 tutorials on their website. Use this link to save $10 on a one or two-year subscription!

I get the Photoshop Elements Techniques magazine and really like it. I like the way they describe specific techniques that are easy to follow without getting too bogged down. Their support website for subscribers is great. Agree with Meredith.
