I am starting to shoot jewelry in a light tent with two side lights. Have any of you used the Diamond Dazzler LED light bulb that makes diamonds or gems sparkle more. It is supposed to be placed in front of the piece of jewelry at about 18 inches. They are expensive at $57.00 plus shipping and exchange rate in Europe which totals about $87.00. So before I order one I wonder if any of you have used one? I can't find one in the US.

Have you gone to a local LED light specialist Electrician? Something similar might be available for less than $90, which is excessive considering the bulbs probably cost <$5 to produce.

Yes, thank you. I found a multiple LED light bulb for about $10.00 but the colors are yellow. Did not work for my application. I emailed the company and asked why they are so expensive. They said they are a specialty item and on a limited production basis. Of course the company claims they are fantastic for gem type photography. I have their Table Top Studio with their KUHL lighting system which is very nice but super expensive also. Thank goodness I purchased it used or it would have been around $600.00 for the basics. Thanks for the idea.....It just didn't work.

You need to research the light temperature in Kelvin that you want and get a LED bulb that will match. Most over the counter LEDs are trying to mimic "soft" light that you would use indoors.
I would recommend matching the Diamond Dazzler's 5000k level, or 4500k, which I know is widely available.

This is the bulb. Impossible to find in the US, except the company that sells them states several have been shipped to the US.

You may need to check voltages too.

A few leads on alibaba but they didn't amount to much, maybe an Led torch might work?

Well, I'll be darned. It sure looks the same or mighty close. I ordered one for $11.99 shipped. It sure beats almost $90.00 and if it will do the same thing, I will be happy. Go find! Thank you. dave

You should be able to set a custom white balance on your camera to correct for the color of the light.

I just did an image search and it looked pretty similar, to your pic. I don't know if it will work the way you want it too. It's just something i found on the internet.
