More men fell during the Battle of Gettysburg than in any other battle on American soil before or since. Much has been written and said about Gettysburg. But the most tangible connection to those 3 days in July (1,2 & 3) is the battlefield itself.

Beautiful shots of Gettysburg. The Confederate Army, under the leadership of General Robert E. Lee, took a bold move, in the summertime of 1863, to take the war into Northern Territory. A very bloody battle it was, with many casualties on both sides.

I like your set of photos a lot. One of my Mississippi ancestors, a 3X great-uncle, was killed on July2nd. He was 25 and had never married.

I was there many years ago as a pre-teen - my dad found bullets from both sides in Devil's Den. Thanks for the pictures!

Thank you for the great photos, want to get there myself and walk the open field where my great great uncle was wounded in Pickett's Charge. I'm surprised that the PC crowd haven't removed all the Confederate monuments and statues like they are doing in so many southern cities. DAMN YANKEES.
