These photos were taken on the morning of June 22. The local chapter of the Audubon Society chartered a boat to get members to these locations. The tide was high and getting higher - we were nearly chased off the sandbar which was rapidly turning into a submarine.

Great set! I've been there and it's a wonderful spot for birding, but I worry about the sand and salt water spray on my camera gear.

Thanks for looking in. You are correct on all counts. I guess the risk is justified by the pleasure gained in such beautiful spots. I did spend some time checking the equipment for sand and spray when I returned home. I figure if I can't use it, what's the sense of having it?

Glad that you liked my photos. There was a number of first sightings there for me.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! The Wilson's Plover and the Gray Kingbird were firsts for me. Had a great time going to a place that one doesn't get to often.

Thanks very much Sylvia. Thrilled that you like my Plover and Sandpiper. I don't believe I have ever seen either one of those previously.

Very nice series Madman. You surely did get a nice variety of birds. I especially like the reddish egret.
