I'd like some help in picking a flatbed photo scanner. I have quite a few old photo prints along with a few slides and negatives. My budget is between $100 - $500. Any thoughts on brands, models, specs? I'm looking for both positive and negative experience.

Welcome to UHH, I don't have any slides or negatives, so I use a wand scanner for about $89. You can scan as fast as you can lay them out. Tried a printer scanner once, it took forever, then I found the wand scanner. The pictures are scanned on a micro SD card and use adapter to insert into pc and download. I know they make printers for photos, negatives and slides also.

I've had good luck with my Epson Perfection 600. I guess calling it the Perfection primes the user to like it - hard to argue with perfection.

Epsom V500 or V700. I use the 700 and it's great for prints, slides and negatives.

I have a Canon but I honestly think all the major brand scanners do a great job.

Epson, H-P or Canon. I personally do not like Mustec.
If you are going to scan slides or negatives, make sure your choice has the proper adapters and software for your computer.

I also use the Epson V700 with ICE and find it is excellent. Recently scanned in a large number of old family photos, slides & negatives and some were better than the originals.

Epson V500, I have had it for several years and has done a great deal of work for me.
