Is this a predatory bug?

sorry some of this is out of focus. it was hand held and I had to use one hand to move plants out of the way, plus I have a battery grip. This guy was in my zinnia patch. and he was roaming around the plants. I have a Canon 7DII and the only thing I don't like about it is that the metering is so far to the right I have to take my eye off the subject and strain to see it.

Looks like one of the assassin bug nymphs, not sure which one.
They are predatory if you are another bug.

I've seen a Wheel Bug. They are a predator that is prehistoric looking (look it up). It also can give you a VERY painful bite. This bug looks very much prehistoric too. I hope he's eating the Japanese beetles that are eating the zinnias LOL> I have a trap up and it's half full of them. have to change the bag.

I don't know what he is, foathog, but these are good shots of him!

I appreciate that. especially since I wasn't trying for an artful shot. I didn't know how long he'd hang around and rushed to snap off a few shots. Canon DPP4 helped me a little
