I was going through family pictures when I came to this one of my mother and our now-thirty-year-old daughter. Elsewhere here there is a discussion of dealing with mixed light sources. In this case, I did take a picture with flash, but allowing the incandescent light to play its part did a much better job of capturing the moment IMHO.

Very fine shot, and I agree about the light. A monitor screen probably could not capture the richness of a real print made by hand. It does not seem to suffer too slow a shutter.

I like the use of your light source. It gives a more intimate look to the picture. Nice! /George

I like the photo but I'll be the outlier, the yellow is just too much.

p.s.
I once asked a room of photographers how they would photograph love, and they all thought of wedding or honeymoon pictures--beaches at sunset, etc. Not one mentioned a grandmother serving cookies to children.
