I was playing around with some sliders and filters when out popped this nice artwork and I thought I might share.

The psychedelic look doesn't hold much appeal for me personally, but if that's what you like, then more power to you. It's your computer and your software and in the world of creativity, personal freedom is a wonderful thing. The title is clever and it might make an interesting t-shirt design.

If Mother Nature doesn't come up with the colours you like, why not make your own? You've probably spoilt a decent butterfly shot, but it's an interesting concept. Question is, could you reproduce it if you wanted it on another photo? Whenever I've done something similar I find it tends to be a one-off.

I don't think much of this either but there were a couple of colorful blurry and indistinct pictures here earlier so I thought that I might try too.
I prefer to try to make proper photos.

Should I maybe show the original?

In this section we believe that experimentation is to be encouraged. Creative edits don't have to be perfect masterpieces in order to be deemed acceptable in this section. There's almost always something to be gained from seeing others' efforts, especially when they are accompanied by a description of the processing steps. I don't think any of the regulars in this section are claiming to be experts, and the posts don't have to be at expert level in order to be acceptable here. Most of the contributors here are willing to share the details of their editing, and that is much appreciated.

Hopefully you have realised that in order to get the most out of the "sliders and filters" as you put it (and we could include presets in general), input is required from the user. Ideally that process starts with the user choosing an appropriate image to work on and then choosing appropriate filters for achieving the desired (or envisioned) effect. And hopefully you realise that that is not the end of the process. Sliders and filters are tools which can be used with varying effect (good, bad or indifferent), so the user input is a prime factor in determining the end result. Hopefully you aren't making the mistake of thinking that filters will do all the work for you and provide you with satisfactory results without any input from you. Typically filters (and presets in general) need extensive and careful tweaking in order to produce optimum results, which means that ideally they are used with skill and careful consideration.

Anyone who is familiar with such filters (and presets in general) should be able to appreciate when they have been used thoughtfully and skillfully by another forum member. This is the sort of appreciation that we seek to encourage.

There are no restrictions as to number of shots posted here snaggles, you are very welcome to show us what you started with - in fact those that are not so keen on the psychedelic affect may like prefer you do! Perhaps a description of where the sliders went might interest as well.

Edit: just noticed the info in the title, apologies!
