I tried my hand at some bird photography and quickly learned that I need a tripod with a long lens. Please excuse the bit of fuzziness.

The Cardinal on the roof is a cool shot.
I agree with using a tripod, but good VR can sometimes be enough.

A tripod always come in handy - if you have it the birds appear!

Thanks, Carol. This was actually taken at a friend's house. He has a pond, a riverbank, a wooded area, etc., all conducive to birds.
