Nice captures. My Bluebirds are never that blue. Anyone know why? Even if I try to get them a little bluer in post, it doesn't work.

To give one answer to this question.....you may be photographing the "female" which has a grayish coloration and won't be as blue......here is a female photo for you to compare......

It may just be me, silverhawk, this is a male and don't think it is as saturated as yours. May be just the climate.
Lovely bird,like second shot best with his head cocked to one side.

How does his color compare to your photos of the female? This one looks almost the color of the female, except for the bright color of the breast.....

I have a hard time getting close to these, the neighbors have cats running all over the place.

Glad to help ! We installed a blue bird house and for about 5 years no one used it.
Then now, for the last 12 or so years, we have 3 or 4 blue
"nephews" every spring
