Does anyone have any good techniques for shooting lightning?

My technique is to,of course, use a tripod, aim at the storm, set my shutter at 16-seconds (letting the camera decide the aperture, ISO 200, set my camera's self timer to 10-seconds so there won't be camera shake from me pressing the shutter release.

Then all I do is fire, one after another. You have no hope of catching lightning by simply shooting in that direction in the normal fashion. Your shutter must be open when the strike happens or you won't catch it.

Good Luck

There's a pricey electronic device that will trigger the camera when lightning appears, but we don't have enough lightning here for me to get one. If I ever move to FL, that will be the first thing I buy.
