Thanks Jerry. I'm needing one. I need one with a lot of horsepower under the hood for video editing.

Just in case you didn't hear about the newer Intel Processors coming out in July and August, you will not be able to run any OS other than Windows 10. They have changed the architecture so that win 8, win 7 will no longer run on the new chipset.. If your looking for a new laptop or computer you may want to consider Win 10 as an operating system. I also understand there is an issue with Mac's OS 10 on the new chips. Seems to be more of a browser issue on the Macs

Not in any form. What do you use to edit videos? My son uses PowerDirector.

I've tried Sony Movie Studio but I'm really not impressed. I'll take a look at PowerDirector. I don't need anything too complicated. Just simple editing, blending clips from different videos, titles, etc. Thanks for the info Jerry.

Good to know. I think most computers sold in the last few years have 10 installed but you could ask for 7. I'm still running 7 but have used 10. A bit of a learning curve but not too bad. I'll wait a little longer and see how the Intel chip machines shake out. My current laptop uses a dual core AMD chip. It's been a good one but just not up to my needs now. I could add more RAM but it's a waste of money. I'll just have to bite the bullet and spend the money for a powerful machine. I've thought about going with an Apple but they are overpriced in my opinion.

In that case, take a look at MS Movie Maker. It's free, and it's very effective. It's always good to take a look at what's free first.

I don't like it when they almost force you to buy a new computer.

Well you're never really forced to buy a new computer. Most software will continue to work on an older system. You get warnings that some companies will no longer support a certain OS. You can still use it but they will not upgrade their product to run on your OS. No big deal really. Cruise on as usual. I just need more power to do video editing and web page design. I'm meeting with a new group tomorrow and the subject will be web page design. I did some web pages for my business years ago but the software was primitive back then. I actually taught myself HTML to make corrections that the software didn't do right. I would just go in and edit the code. Simple stuff to change fonts and font color.
