What I don't think fair is that HCB made a career shooting people without them knowing yet he is offended by someone else published his pictures. He claimed that Duncan's photos were snap shot taken with a P&S and not worthy.

I think there is a difference between shooing candid street photographs without asking permission and shooting photos of someone who has consistently expressed that he didn't want to be photographed. I would hope that if someone saw him on the street and asked him not to take a photo of them, he would comply.

Actually he didn't express that he didn't want to be photographed by Duncan. In fact Duncan used his roll of film to photograph him. He didn't like Duncan published the photographs.

I guess we don't know what, if anything, was discussed between HCB and DDD about how he planned to use the photo.
